  God is editor of the WT

  in an earlier thread reference was made to a court case in which fred franz stated that jehovah god was editor of the "watch tower".

  as this quotation is often used to support the allegation that jws believe the wt is inspired of god i thought it would be of wider interest to provide the relevant court record for general consideration.. the court case itself was in 1940 and was olin moyle against fred franz and others and the wtbts.

  just so that you know who is who, hayden covington was attorney for the defendants and walter bruchhausen was attorney for the plaintiff.

  Sorry only read the last bit of this thread. Some of the most convincing writing I've seen proWT.
  However, what you seem to be saying then is that God is good & right & just, never changes, & is completely trustworthy
  and it is only the buffoons in the writing dept & all who approve the far out stuff that makes the trouble and its ok because they don't do it on purpose. They can only write as far as their intellect will take them on any given topic.
  Could this be one reason why they sought help from the big red UN library?
  Then I think I understand now.

  Contacting Stratton Ohio over major JW Dispute

  someone unknown to me sent an electronic mail message to me with respect to community conscious international comments on the dispute between the watchtower and the community of stratton, ohio.

  i guess the person wants to send the following to every person in stratton and would like comments on the message.

  so what do you think of the following folks?

  I think runningmans idea sounds like something more people would do especially if the e-mail contained a little sign that could be printed and posted on their mail box for their convience.

  Was DPI assoc. even adequate for library access?

  ive been reading many of the un threads with interest but i am already finding it difficult to locate little tidbits of information spread across the numerous threads on this issue that i didnt bother to bookmark.

  i think its already well established that the wt societys associative status with the uns dpi was not required to gain access to its library (as my understand is that any person can request permission and may thereafter be granted access on a temporary basis) but i also seem to recall reading that somebody actually contacted the uns main library and that person was informed that ngos with dpi-associative status do not have automatic access to the librarys materials but must still request a pass or card which also requires some type of formal application.

  could somebody please confirm this and/or direct me to the relevant thread?.

  Giving Up Smoking

  i'm giving up smoking on the 22nd.

  it will be the third time, but this time as part of a government sponsored training course with drugs and patches supplied etc.

  anyone else given up and got any helpfull advise?.

  This was actually the 1st printed thing I investigated.
  Not the Trinity per say (?) but their journalistic integrity (if that is a term)
  This is where I learnt to never trust a quote from the WT with ..... in the middle.
  reading some one's entire quote & context usually led to the total bafflement (vocab way off today) of the scripture quotes that went along especially when they were read in context.
  Very poor excuse for trying to prove one's point. Also very poor excuse for anyone using this document as proof they've investigated an idea. Also very poor excuse to continue studying using this type of material.
  What is that scripture? They use smooth words?

  Instead of just talking about all the good that they do
  Why not list all the "above & beyond" things that set your group APART from ALL others of this world who perform "good" deeds. This way we will know you are "more" Christ-like than any other group on the planet.

  the other day, i was walking out of the kh with elder x, and elder x said ..."did you hear about this jehovah's witness website they got... they should shut it down".

  i acted dumb to it and chuckled.

  i said "really...ah yeah... i think i did hear somthing about that...".

  I'm in the same boat.
  only patches are not free

  Drink lots of water, & easy on the caffeine
  Oranges help, I think its the vitamin C

  I slept alot at first.
  Seemed to be the easiest way to get over the "detox" stage.

  Now I'm in the noyesnoyesnoyes stage
  Times before when I made it this far & it looked like it was gonna work I'd get spooked & bum one, then 2 then get my own.
  Grrrr.

  This time I'm gonna try sleeping right thru this stage as well.
